I don't want to say, "Pick me, pick me. I've read you books."
Hello,
I am writing a query/cover letter (does that make sense?) for my PB MS for a publisher that accepts unsolicited manuscripts. I have read some books from this publisher which is how I decided this publisher would be a good fit for my manuscript. Is this information important to the editor/publisher? Do I let them know how and why I chose them? Also, I haven't figured out how to word it without sounding cheesy (or begging) so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
Thanks
Auntie Flamingo
P.S. Paula, the preview of this post said "By AuntieFlamingo - Posted on December 31st, 1969" which would be pretty cool if I actually did post it then. LOL (not sure if it is a program issue or not but I thought I should let you know)

Hi! Thanks for the "12/31/69" notice, I forwarded that to our tech department. As for your query letter, it's fine to let them know WHY you are contacting them, they like that! But you don't have to overdo it. Just keep it simple. Here's a great blog with links on query letter advice that might help you. I plan to do a blog on this too so stay tuned:
