Live Blog from New England Book Tour! (Wed 10/8/08)

Today, fellow FUSION STORIES authors Mitali Perkins, Janet Wong, David Yoo and I spoke today at the  New England Conference on Multicultural Education.

(From L to R: David, me, Mitali, and Janet!)

We talked with several teachers about the importance of multicultural children's and YA books in today's curriculum and answered their questions. Afterwards, we signed books and chatted with a ton of very cool teachers! Below are pics of Mitali and her mother's sari which she used to decorate our panel table, plus a shot of Mitali totally engrossed in my brother's latest book:

Thanks again to Mitali for organizing the event and for the awesome folks at NECME!

Tomorrow, David and I will speak at a panel at the Asian American Writers Workshop in New York. The event is open to the public, so we look forward to meeting all you New Yorkers! For more information, please go to: http://aaww.org/

Well, now I must go and relax and wait for the delicious dinner my brother is making for us! Stay tuned for live blogging from New York tomorrow! Smile

How fun! I love Janet Wong.
Can't wait to read about your NY adventures.
Hugs,
jill
