On the Road - May 12
Greetings from the delicious Cobblestone Cafe in the very pretty town of Ft. Thomas, KY! Bartlett Bear is enjoying the other half of Cobblestone's highly recommended Apple Waldorf Chicken Wrap!
It was a rocky trip out here, however...
Due to bad weather conditions, dozens of flights to Chicago were either cancelled or delayed for several hours on Sunday. I managed to get to Chicago by 7:30 p.m., only to have to wait until midnight for my connecting flight to Dayton, Ohio, thanks to some valve they had to fix in our plane's engine. (Yikes! I'm a nervous flier, so I'm glad they fixed that valve!
)
I arrived in Dayton at... 2 AM!!!
My rental car is a Chevy Malibu which is a little too big for me, so I had to sit on my backpack in order to reach the pedals. Arrived at my hotel by 3 a.m. and after checking in, parking the car, dragging my suitcase blah blah blah, I finally hit the bed at 4 a.m.
Only to wake up at 7 a.m. for breakfast and for a full day of visits. I'll write more and post picture galleries later of the details, but in a nutshell, so far I had an interview with the lovely Nancy James of Insight Communications for the show, NORTHERN KENTUCKY MAGAZINE which airs on ICN6 in Florence, KY. The interview was a lot of fun and I tried not to talk too fast! The staff members at ICN6 were super nice and gave me a DVD of the interview which airs later this week. Here's a couple teaser pics of Nancy, Bartlett, and I on the set of Northern Kentucky Magazine!

For more information on this TV show and channel, you can check out links at Nancy James' website (www.nancyjames.net) here: NORTHERN KENTUCKY MAGAZINE
I'll post more about my visit to their TV set etc. in a future photo gallery entry, so stay tuned for that!
Afterwards, I drove to Cincinnati, Ohio for a radio interview with Mark DeWitt, host of the program "Cover to Cover" which airs at www.theflypod.com and for Radio Reading Services for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired. I had to bring my violin into the station because I didn't want to leave it in the car... so Mark asked me to play some music for the interview! I played a little Mozart, Rimsky Korsakov, and Led Zeppelin. We had a great conversation. As soon as it airs later this week, I'll provide a link for you to check out! Here's a couple teaser photos of Mark and I and Bartlett fooling around with the radio mics!

Well, I am going to post this blog because YES, I am blogging LIVE while on the road! Stay tuned for future blogs during the 2nd leg of my tour in Ohio and Kentucky! Plus, I promise, detailed photo galleries in the next few weeks once I'm back in LA!
Stay tuned for another live blog tomorrow about my visit to the Blue Marble Bookstore and Joseph Beth Booksellers...
